Simon Watkinson Photo Training is an award winning training company, recognised for the excellence of training and training facilities provided. It is a small, friendly, family business based in the heart of the beautiful Peak District National Park. The business is run by couple Simon and Tammy, who offer a warm welcome to all guests, to their remote 18th Century Farmhouse.
Simon is an Associate member of The British Institute of Professional Photography and has worked in the business of Photography for nearly 25 years. He has an unique talent in that he does not specialise in just one area of Photography; his knowledge is so in-depth that he is able to cross many genres of Photography. All of the images on this website are by Simon. This means that if your brief does not fit in with our regular course schedule, we can create something bespoke on our Private Tuition program, be it sports, fashion or commercial Photography. Simon is also a Digital Imaging expert.
Simon and Tammy wanted to offer their guests an unrivaled learning experience and with Simon's Digital Imaging expertise, felt that they could offer so much more than any other rival training company. Nearly 8 years ago Simon undertook the task of renovating the 18th Century Barn into the well equipped Digital Suite it is today. He retained many of the original features such as the exposed beams and stonework along with the old Hay Hatch, providing the perfect blend of old and new in a stunning, tranquil setting.
Guests have access to 'their own' iMac workstation for the duration of their course, which is still unique to Simon Watkinson Photo Training all these years on! If out in the field, you have the luxury of being transported in our 15 seater mini bus.
